Even experienced users can sometimes find technology – smart phones, tablets, laptops, PCs and the internet in general – more frustrating than helpful. Or you may be unaware of some recent developments that could make your life easier.
So we’re delighted to announce that Anna Dolphin from Ability Net will be joining us at the Library Café in the Old School Village Hall on Monday 13th October at 2.00 for an informal session exploring the possibilities of what your phone, tablet, or computer can do for you — from practical tips to fun features.
Come and enjoy a cup of tea and find out how your technology could work better and more safely for you—whether it’s staying in touch with loved ones, exploring hobbies, accessing NHS and government services or shopping online.
Anna will also be joining us again on Monday 10th November on the theme of Staying Safe with Technology – a relaxed and supportive session where we’ll look at ways to stay safe online. We’ll share tips for shopping securely, spotting scams, and protecting your personal information — all in a friendly, no-jargon environment.
Please note that the library will be open as usual on these dates if you just want to browse the books.
We’ve been keeping an eye on the weather forecast and can confirm that the Andromeda Experience postponed from last week will be going ahead this Thursday. If it’s chilly, the Pavilion will be open for the talk by Doug and hot soup to warm you up!
See updated poster for details and we hope you can still make it.
We’ve been keeping a close eye on the weather forecast for Thursday, and it doesn’t look great. While it’s not going to be raining, the clouds will prevent us from seeing the main event – the Andromeda Galaxy!
The forecast for a week later is (currently) a lot better so we’ve postponed the event until Thursday 25th September. Same venue, different date. (See updated poster for details)
Apologies if this makes it difficult for you to attend, but we hope you can still make it.
The funeral of Wendy Miers will take place at St Giles Church, Dallington on Tuesday 10th June at 2pm. All who knew her are welcome to attend. If you live outside the village and would be able to car share that would be helpful. Either flowers or donations to the church in memory of Wendy would be appreciated.
Following the burial in the churchyard, Wendy’s daughter Samantha has invited guests for refreshments at her house near Framfield. Samantha would be grateful if you could phone or email her if you would like to attend and she will give you directions.
