Services in August

Last month we celebrated Easter Day twice at St. Giles. As the Rector was busy at the other churches in the morning there was a service of Holy Communion for Easter Day at 6.30pm. However, at 11am we had a joyful service of hymn singing and storytelling. The highlight was a solo from Lucas Jones of John Rutter’s ‘The Lord Bless You and Keep You’. Afterwards we had some very excited children (and adults) looking for Easter Eggs. Something for everyone, a very happy day.

A brief reminder that the first of our Lent Lunches takes place this Saturday 7th March – see details below:
You are invited to join us at St Giles at any time between 12 noon and 2pm on Saturday 7th and Saturday 28thMarch. We shall be having a simple bread and homemade soup lunch with a little something for dessert. You won’t go hungry!
Vegetarians will be catered for but if you have any other special dietary requirements or any other queries please contact Jane on 07766434847 or email janem.st.giles.dallington@gmail.com
All will be very welcome. This year we are supporting St Giles itself; we need to spend c.£20,000 on urgent roof repairs. Donations towards the repairs will be gratefully received as presently, in this very wet winter, water is finding its way into the building.

A quick reminder of St Giles services this month
After the celebrations, the Christmas tree with all of the lights etc has to be taken down. Join us at St Giles 6th January 2026 at 10-11am for coffee and cake (or tea, juice, biscuits, mince pies etc) to celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany and admire the Christmas tree before it is dismantled. Once again help will be greatly welcomed
Confirming that Midnight Mass will be at St. Giles Church on Christmas Eve 24th December at 11.30pm and not on the 23rd December as stated in The Messenger and on the noticeboards.
